This is my 20th year of teaching. This is my 8th year at OCS.
I chose teaching as a profession because I enjoyed babysitting as a high schooler and helping out with Sunday School/Children's church during my teen years. Also, my aunt was a teacher and an inspiration to me as I listened to her talk about her students and the heart I saw for them. I went into education with a focus on early childhood and the younger grades, and now have found myself enjoying the older, middle school ages as well. God has grown and reshaped my heart for teaching over the years! What a joy and a blessing it is to see children of any age have those light bulb moments learning something new. It has especially been a blessing being at OCS and being able to share the love of God and His Word with all ages.
My deep hope comes right from Ephesians 3:17-19 which says, "...that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith- that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."
