Junior Achievement is one of those field trips that is more than a field trip. It requires many hours of classrooms instruction before we even leave Oostburg. This year our 4th & 5th grades spent the time learning about all taking care of their finances, saving money, making purchases and all the facets of running a town.
Then it was off to the Junior Achievement facility in Milwaukee where they participated in JA BizTown. JA BizTown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.
Every child and adult comes back from this trip with accolades of what a great experience this was!
