Before leaving for their retreat, the 8th graders led their Unity Groups in reading Old Testament prophesy of Jesus birth and then the account of the birth as recorded in Luke 2. While a familiar reading and one that many at OCS can recite by heart, we pray the words never become casual to our ears!

The first of two 8th grade retreats took place today. This one focused on the specifics of prophesy fulfilled through every detail of Jesus birth. What a high calling to assist parents and local churches in pouring into our students the Word of God and the truths of Scripture. Plus, it is just a great day when we can hang out with these students!!!

Ever wonder what an owl eats? Did you know that after they eat they spit out feathers, bones, fur and other things they can't digest? Did you know that you can dissect these "pellets" and figure out what their meal consisted of? Our 4th graders now know all about this after dissecting owl pellets today!!

Tonight we held our annual Christmas program to a packed, standing room only crowd. When a few of our young people looked around the curtain and saw how many people were there, they got nervous. Without prompting and without an adult telling them what to do, they huddled together and prayed. They prayed!! These kids know that they can go to their Heavenly Father when they are nervous, scared, unsure and even excited! This is the "fruit" that we love to see in our kids! And God answered their prayer-they presented the gospel clearly for all in attendance!!
