In keeping with the mission of Oostburg Christian School, to "...develop a heart that is prepared for a lifetime of service..." we strive to encourage our young people in developing habits of Christian discipleship. To that end, worship times and small Unity Groups are scheduled as part of our school day. In addition to Bible instruction and scripture memory in the classroom, students and teachers meet together regularly for worship and praise to our God. The lower grades (preschool-4), and middle school (5-8,) join together weekly or bi-weekly, respectively, for worship. Several times a year, the entire school body worships together, led by our staff, 8th grade students, local pastors, or leaders in our community.
In addition, Unity Groups, consisting of one student from each grade with an 8th grade leader, are formed at the start of the school year and meet for weekly prayer and monthly activities that build Christian community, and are coordinated around a verse and theme chosen for emphasis for each school year.
Special Chapel services are held in conjunction with the opening day of school, Grandparents' Day, occasional visits from missionaries, etc.
